Basket Case

Wikipedia defines basket case:
A slang term for a mentally-ill person or a badly run country

I am feeling like both today. I made the error of trying to look back when I know I need to keep looking forward. When you are not feeling well it is easy to do... I have to pull it together.

Thank you to my friends who listen without judging.

Immune system down

Sadly, I do not have strep, but I do have:
  • laryngitis
  • bronchitis
  • a virus
  • conjunctivitis
I realize that the stress in my life of late is def. taking it's toll, but this is just plain depressing.
All I want for Christmas is to feel good.

Out of time

Just when I thought the world had slowed down... Olivia tells me it has not.

Welcome to Your Crisis

I have been getting a lot of great suggested reading lists lately, but found this one on my own. Welcome to Your Crisis by Laura Day is a really quality read.
You are not a single, unrelated speck of energy. You create a field of energy, relationships, and outcomes. If your world changes, you change. The relativity principle tells us that this dynamic works the other way, too: if you change yourself, your world changes - the universe changes.

Grateful Monday

I have a cold. An icky, sneezy, red-rimmed nostril cold. Rudolph has nothing on my face right now. So I am grateful for an afternoon in bed, neosporin with pain relief, and Kleenex with aloe.

Zen and the art of toilet maintenance

After Jeff dutifully taught me how to replace the toilet handle and arm. I managed to replace the flapper ball all by myself!

Now if only I could figure out why my home phones aren't working after the power went out (yet again). And of course the Apple Airports aren't working either. One challenge at a time, I suppose.

The universe is strange and magical.

On facebook, I looked up an old friend from France this week. He had joined facebook minutes before in the hopes of making contact with me. Unbelievable! The funny part is he looked me up by my maiden name and did not find me. Not five minutes later, I sent a friend request. Facebook has been strange and magical indeed with many new friends also reaching out to support me. I am so blessed. Thank you.

P.S. I am twittering now, fun stuff.

Question to my friends in the blogosphere

I have had a tremendous crisis in the past three weeks that was not my doing. My marriage is almost over, and I am wondering...

When you are making a new life, and a new start, what do you do with your digital footprint? I have 1,500+ photos of the past twelve years online and a blog extolling my husband's praises. Do I hide them? Delete them? Leave them there? They are not bad memories although currently very painful. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Incidentally, for those who are curious, I do not intend to change my name.

Quote

Quote from Under the Tuscan Sun (movie) that seems to sum it all up.

"Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you. Like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly. You shouldn't have to wake up day after day after that, trying to understand how in the world you didn't know."
